BTTI accepts admissions three times a year (January, May, September) through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and direct application. Both school-leavers and adult learners are welcome — there is a programme to fit every academic background.

Application Process

How to Apply

Five simple steps from application to your first day in class.

Obtain the Application Form

Pick up a form from the Registrar’s Office, download from our website, or request one via SMS to +254 702 092 440. A non-refundable application fee of KSh 500 applies.

Fill in the Form & Attach Documents

Complete all sections of the form and attach copies of: KCPE/KCSE certificate, National ID, birth certificate, 4 passport photos and KUCCPS placement letter (if applicable).

Submit Your Application

Deliver in person to the Principal, P.O. Box 2227-50100, Kakamega, OR email a scanned copy to admissions@bushiangalatechnical.ac.ke.

Pay Application & Reservation Fee

Pay via M-Pesa Paybill or directly at the Finance Office. Retain your receipt — it forms part of your admission record.

Receive Admission Letter

You’ll receive your offer letter and joining instructions via SMS or email within 14 days. Report on the specified date with your originals for verification.

Government-Sponsored Students

KUCCPS Placement

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) places government-sponsored students in TVET institutions, including Bushiangala TTI. If you have been placed at BTTI through KUCCPS, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the KUCCPS Students Portal at students.kuccps.net
  2. Accept your placement at Bushiangala TTI
  3. Download and print your Acceptance Letter
  4. Submit a copy of the letter to BTTI Registrar’s office
  5. Apply for scholarship, bursary and loan funding through www.hef.co.ke (HEF)
  6. Report to BTTI on the date stated in your joining letter

Fee Structure

Fees for the 2026 academic year (revised May 2026). The full official fee structure is also available on the Downloads page.

Our fees are the same for all courses and all levels (Level 3, Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6). The structure below is per academic year, payable in three modules (terms).

Application & Registration Fee (new) — KSh 500 · Student Identity Card (new) — KSh 500 · TVETA Fee (new) — KSh 500 · KUCCPS Placement Fee (new) — KSh 1,500 · Student Welfare (all students, per term) — KSh 400 · Mentorship (per term) — KSh 1,000. Total additional: KSh 4,400.

Accommodation (optional) is KSh 3,000 per term for space and bed only, considered after clearing fees. Subsidised meals are available at the college café on a pay-as-you-eat basis. All students (w.e.f. September 2023) are required to apply for scholarship, bursary and loan funding through www.hef.co.ke, and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursaries also help subsidise fees; any deficit is met by the parent or guardian.
