Your Path Into Technical & Vocational Education
BTTI accepts admissions three times a year (January, May, September) through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and direct application. Both school-leavers and adult learners are welcome — there is a programme to fit every academic background.
How to Apply
Five simple steps from application to your first day in class.
Obtain the Application Form
Pick up a form from the Registrar’s Office, download from our website, or request one via SMS to +254 702 092 440. A non-refundable application fee of KSh 500 applies.
Fill in the Form & Attach Documents
Complete all sections of the form and attach copies of: KCPE/KCSE certificate, National ID, birth certificate, 4 passport photos and KUCCPS placement letter (if applicable).
Submit Your Application
Deliver in person to the Principal, P.O. Box 2227-50100, Kakamega, OR email a scanned copy to admissions@bushiangalatechnical.ac.ke.
Pay Application & Reservation Fee
Pay via M-Pesa Paybill or directly at the Finance Office. Retain your receipt — it forms part of your admission record.
Receive Admission Letter
You’ll receive your offer letter and joining instructions via SMS or email within 14 days. Report on the specified date with your originals for verification.

KUCCPS Placement
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) places government-sponsored students in TVET institutions, including Bushiangala TTI. If you have been placed at BTTI through KUCCPS, follow these steps:
- Log in to the KUCCPS Students Portal at students.kuccps.net
- Accept your placement at Bushiangala TTI
- Download and print your Acceptance Letter
- Submit a copy of the letter to BTTI Registrar’s office
- Apply for HELB / Higher Education Loan if needed
- Report to BTTI on the date stated in your joining letter

Note: Government-sponsored students receive KSh 30,000 annual capitation. Fees are payable per term (3 terms/year). The full fee structure includes examination fees, medical fees, registration and welfare fees.
