What is RPL?

Formal certification for skills you already have.

Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that gives you a nationally-recognised qualification for the skills you have already learned on the job, through apprenticeship, or through years of practice — without having to attend classes.

At Bushiangala TTI, RPL runs under the TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) framework. On completion, successful candidates receive a CDACC certificate of competency recognised across Kenya and the East African Community — the same paper a classroom graduate earns.

Why RPL Works

Three reasons candidates choose this route.

01

No classroom time

You keep working. Assessment is scheduled around you — not the other way round.

02

Pay per module

From KSh 2,000. Spread the cost as you certify one competency at a time.

03

Nationally recognised

Same CDACC paper as a classroom graduate — accepted by employers across Kenya and the EAC.

Fees per Module

Two assessment tiers. You choose where you sit.

Payment is per module. Your Co-ordinator will advise on the modules applicable to your trade after a short interview.
